Royal Jelly: Beauty and the Foodie

Royal jelly is the main food source for bee larva in the first 3 days of their development. Royal jelly is rich in amino acids (about 29), lipids, sugars, proteins, 10-hydroxydecenoic acid (10-HDA) which is the major therapeutic component, vitamins (vitamin A, B COMPLEX, C,D and E) and minerals (ample level of calcium and iron). It also contains acetylcholine, which is needed to transmit nerves messages from cell to cell.
Royal jelly, often referred to as bees milk, cannot be duplicated in any laboratory due to its complex chemical structure. It is an expensive item on the shelf and it seems to have become increasingly more and more popular as a beauty bee product.
It is majorly used in dietary supplement but also as addition to body lotions and creams. Royal jelly is believed to be able to nourish the body on the inside and revitalizes it on the outside as well. it benefits are extensively associated with healthier skin and hair and more youthful appearance.
What does royal jelly do to your skin?
1. Skin aging process - with increasing age, the skin's cell renewal process becomes less efficient. Cell regeneration and tissue repair slows down, the amount of natural moisture present in the skin is reduced. As collagen production lessen, skin becomes thinner and looses its flexibility. Boosting collagen production slows down the aging process. Royal jelly contain mineral like silicon that leads to increased collagen production. Amino acids are also a component of collagen that makes the skin firm. Specific antioxidants its contains like flavonoids, nucleic acids and hormones also support skin renewal.
2. Moisturizes the skin - Royal jelly's fats, suspended as a natural emulsion, have moisturizing properties, protect skin from dehydration and reduce inflammation. Royal jelly increases the moisture cotent of the skin which inturn helps to treat dry and damaged skin.
3. Promote new skin growth - It is known to regenerate the cells and tissues. The skin can renew itself in 30days if you use royal jelly for the skin.
4. Hormonal balance and the skin - Royal jelly is a powerful hormonal tonic because the hormones are so complex, they are used for hormonal balancing when there is hormonal imbalance in the body especially, during a period such as menopause, a decrease in hormone often causes skin problems like drier skin with increased wrinkles, skin looses some elasticity as collagen production is reduced. Older skin appears paler as the lack of estrogen reduces the number of blood vessels in the skin. Taking royal jelly as a dietary supplement helps hormonal imbalance.
Royal jelly B vitamins offers benefits asides the anti aging properties, vitamin B3 in particular helps prevent scaliness, irritation, redness and inconsistent pigmentation while Biotin encourages healthy fatty acid metabolism, which in turn encourages healthier skin.
The only issue with Royal jelly seems to be that it triggers allergic reaction in some people. Note that if you are allergic to honey, it is highly probable that the same is true for royal jelly.

Neem oil takes different colors like yellow-brown, golden yellow and dark brown based on the method of extraction. Neem oil has a strong and pungent aroma and is extremely bitter in taste because of the presence of phytochemicals. Neem oil is loaded with fatty acids and alkaloids.

Tomato is rich in vitamin A, C and K, which are used to treat acne. The acidity in tomato also helps in reducing and clearing up your acne. If you have mild acne, cut a tomato into half and apply the inside on your face. For severe acne, mash a fresh tomato and use the pulp on your face, leave it on for 45 minutes and rinse it off. Do this on a regular basis and your acne is bound to dry off soon.
Remove dead skin cells and protect the body from toxins effects
Tomato can greatly help to remove dead skin cells. Grind tomato with the seeds and add 1 teaspoon of sugar to it. Gently scrub your face with it to get a clean and fresh looking skin. Tomato help protect the body against the effects of toxins, especially aflatoxins and cadmium, which is found in cigarette smoke and frequently in air pollution.
See, tomato is the bomb! It is food for the body and the skin at the same time, so why not make it a habit of having tomato in your daily meal. Cooking tomato makes it easier for the body to absorb the lycopene they contain.
